Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has denied reports of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ an extension of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. There has been a report in some section of media that the movie is an extension of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ which starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna.

Ritesh says,“It’s supposed to be a summer release, so how can we bring it on the same date as Dil Chahta Hai, which is August 10? In any case, it’s a celebratory film for Farhan (Akhtar) and me because our association completes a decade this August.”

He added, “Our first production was a film about friends, and our first release in our 10th year is also about friends. By the time the year ends, we’ll have produced a dozen films together.”

Ritesh Sidhwani attributes the rescheduled release date to their film’s editor, Chandan Arora’s illness. The team thought he would recuperate with a few weeks’ rest. But Chandan’s doctor insisted on surgery. “We had a deadline. So, we proceeded with another editor,” he adds. Anand Subaya, who is working on ‘Don 2’, was roped in and editing started from scratch.

“We didn’t force him to follow someone else’s work,” says Sidhwani. “He had to look at the complete footage before he started editing the film which took some time. Thankfully, the wait is nearly over now.”
